Lori Gard

Lori Gard is a versatile professional with over 15 years of experience in education and mental health.

She is a children’s book author, keynote speaker, professional trainer, coach, and a therapist specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy. Holding multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Education, and a Master of Science in School Counselling and Guidance, Lori also has advanced certification in couple and family therapy from the University of Guelph.  She is also registered with CCPC Global and nationally certified as a Certified Solution-Focused Therapist (CSFT).

In her private practice, she focuses on conflict resolution, coaching, emotional regulation, and anxiety management, utilizing Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as employing Emotionally Focused Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy concepts.  As a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), Lori provides clinical supervision to other therapists and students.

A professional trainer, she conducts workshops for educators and leaders, helping them develop their skills. Lori’s writing includes contributions to various publications, co-authoring a book on  curriculum called Inside the Classroom: Stories of Curriculum and Creativity, and she has a children’s book series aimed at supporting emotional regulation in children.  The series is called Tales for Big Feelings with two book titles now released:  Reg Goes Swimming and Reg Takes a Trip.  The third book Reg Catches a Salmon will be published and distributed in 2025.
